  2. What Should Training Programs Do If They Are Not Offering Test Dates To Ensure Their Current And Former Students Can Complete The Skills Exam In A Timely Manner?

    Many Training Programs serve as Test Sites across North Carolina. Test Sites submit test dates to Credentia based on their location’s availability.

    If a Training Program is not available to serve as a Test Site, but they have Candidates that need to test, then they are encouraged to partner with another Training Program/Test Site to ensure their Candidates get tested in a timely manner.

    Training Programs are encouraged to serve as a Test Site because Candidates have 24 months and 3 attempts to take the exam after successfully completing a training program.

  3. Is It Possible For The Skills Exam To Be Eliminated From The Nurse Aide Exam?

    The requirements for the state-approved nurse aide exam are determined by federal laws and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

    Training Programs can upload Candidates individually or in batches based on their preference.

  6. Can Training Programs See The Most Missed Skills For Their Location?

    Training programs can see the most missed skills and steps for their respective location. This information is available in the Training Program Report under the Content Analysis tables.

  7. Can Training Programs Test Their Own Students?

    Per the guidance provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in the State Operations Manual, DHSR considers training programs testing their own students a conflict of interest.

  9. What Is The Escalation Process If Credentia Has Not Resolved An Issue Within 5 Business Days?

    High Schools should report issues to the Health Science Education Consultant at the Department of Public Instruction (DPI). 

    Test Sites, Community Colleges, Healthcare Facilities, Proprietary Schools, and Universities should report issues to DHSR.
